The rocky top of Carnedd y Filiast
Carnedd y Filiast (Carn-eth uh Fili-ast - Cairn of the Greyhound) forms the most northerly area in the Glyderau.

It has a vast expanse of layered slab (the Atlantic Slab), giving rise to some exceptionally long, easy mountain routes, some giving over 1,000ft of continuous climbing. Many routes are notable for their almost complete lack of protection and total isolation. The slab is a fossilised sea bed that has been tilted over millions of years.

The summit affords good views of Anglesey, Snowdon, the Carneddau and the Glyderau.
