OS trig pillar on the summit of Dodd Fell Hill

Dodd Fell Hill stands at the head of Sleddale in the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking the town of Hawes to the north and the valley of Outershaw to the south. Duerley Beck forms on the slopes of Dodd Fell Hill, feeding Gayle Beck and the restored 19th Century Gayle Mill

The flanks of Dodd Fell Hill are popular with many walkers and cyclists thanks to them being crossed by the Roman Cam High Road to the east and the famous Pennine Way to the west. However, this popularity doesn't extend to the summit which is often neglected.

A lonely OS pillar can be found on the summit that provides superb views of the Yorkshire three peaks, despite the lack of prominence.
