Snowdonia - The Arenigs

The Arenigs are the largest area in Snowdonia, yet they have the lowest summit density. So there are large expanses of moorland between the summits. This isn't very good for peak bagging, but it's great for getting away from it all since it's a very quiet area away from the main summit of Arenig Fawr.

The Arenigs is an informal term for the group of mountains - they are not strictly defined. Despite the superb terrain and wild character of the countryside, there are few walkers in the Arenigs. Arenig Fawr is the highest in the group but it has a number of satellites that are worth exploring.
